Bias paragraph

Bias can affect the way we look at things.

There are two types of bias. Bias can be subjective which means you make an opinion based on the information you already have. It can also be objective which means you don’t allow the information you already have to change the way you think.

in the story the Goldilocks and The Three Bears, Goldilocks breaks into the bear’s house. She makes a bad choice as she has no right to be there. She was actually stealing and vandalising their property. This shows that my opinion was subjective as I think stealing is wrong. If I didn’t use what I already know I think I would feel sorry for Goldilocks  as the bears scared her and that just isn’t fair. This time I am being objective as I’m not letting the difference between right and wrong affect my decision.

Bias changes the way you see things.

There are two types of bias. One is subjective and one is objective. Subjective is when people use what they know to make an opinion. Objective is when people make opinions about something they are learning about for the first time.

In the story of The Three Pigs people think the wolf is a the bad person. If my opinion is subjective I know that he destroyed houses and tried to kill the pigs so he is not a good character because he did mean things. If my opinion is objective I think the wolf was just hungry so he isn’t really a bad character. He was just looking for food.

My Maths strategy

Yvette collects gems. She has been collecting them for 3 years. Her favourites are
diamonds. Altogether she has 233 gems. 75 of these are diamonds. How many of her gemstones collection are not diamonds?

I added 25 to the 75 to make 100. Then I added 133 to the 100 and made 233. 25 to 133 equals 158. There are 75 diamonds and 158 other gems.

Holiday reading

Who would win
In the end the Tasmanian devil fights the wolverine and the and the wolverine wins because it has longer arms and its way bigger.
Wolverine it is almost like a sloth but is is much faster and bigger.

Tasmanian devil is like an overgrown rat.

This is the holiday reading task. There is more but I choose the most interesting one.

Tech

Every Fridays Room 9 and 6 go to tech in Tamaki collage. The year 8s are doing cooking and the yea 7s are doing pewter casting. This is my casting. I'm on the last sandpaper. It took one term to get to were I am Im proud of what I've done

Bias

Three Pigs moved out
The pigs houses are made of straws, sticks and bricks.
Two houses were annihilated
The third pig was prepared

Wolf prepared cake
Wolfs Lacking sugar
Wolfs in poor health
Wolf Blows and meals 2 pigs
He goes to triad pig
Wolf goes behind bars

A viewpoint is your own opinion.
Bias is our own opinion and viewpoint of a story
Viewpoints effects stories because if don't see it from another story and the first story is wrong you will see it from a bad bias.

In room 9 we were learning to look at story's in different bias. Which is different point of view.

Maths strategy

In room 9 we have thinking groups. We wrote in a big piece of paper and this was my strategy.

In the holidays

In the holidays I played on my Ps3 and went to Longbay with my family and friends. We ate food played soccer and swam then we had a rest. It was 5 o clock and we left i was exhausted and went to sleep The next day I did some of the homework that the school gave us. The holidays were amazing because of the soccer games I watched they were all packed full of excitement and joy. I played a lot of computer games in the holidays. The same thing happened for the rest of the holidays and I was getting bored. Then In the last day of the holidays I was happy for the first tome to return to school.
