The sun is the closest star to our planet.Without the sun we would not be able to live. The sun is what gives us time. Earth spins around on its axis so we get an equal share of daytime and night time. Earth’s atmosphere stops the speed of whatever comes into our atmosphere.There are 8 planets that spin in an orbit in our solar system. A universe is made of many galaxies.Our planets is one of many planets in the milky way galaxy. Scientists believe that constellations are a group of stars that form an image. Astronauts are planning to move to Mars for a year to see if humans can live there. They are also trying to travel to other planets. Way’s we get to space have changed in the last 20 years. Gravity makes us not go to space it keeps. The distance in space is called light years. Satellites are in space because before we did not have them and the phone calls we made did not go far so we sent satellites to get our calls to another part of earth.Space probes are also a peice of technology created by scientest. A probe is a spacecraft that travels through space to collect science information. Probes do not have astronauts living inside. Probes send data back to Earth for scientists to study. By learning about the solar system in our school we will be able to understand the ways of the universe. Our Idea of space exploration are getting better and better.

Today the school went to the hall to watch a show. The name of the show is space jump. The characters were Tye and Naomi.  Its about an alien coming to earth to get fiction books. but the scientists think they're coming to take over the world. The moral of the story is to not judge people and to use your creativity and imaginations. Also to read any book and if you can't read it look at the pictures and think of what the pictures saying and to ask someone to read it

for you.

A nerdy lawyer who discovers he has super powers

Decades ago n America there is a lawyer that is super nerdy. He had a super boring job. The job was near a forest and he worked till nine in the night. One night he worked late and he saw a meteor falling in the depths of the forest. He went to see what is was and there were two green heads that he saw first. The he saw long spotty green legs and antennas. He was curious and wanted to know more so he went to talk. But the aliens zapped him with a gun he got inconus.  

In the morning he felt wide awake. He was turing strong when he took a step his footsteps where deep. There was a huge gap in the ground and he said to himself”I can't jump that”.But he tried. He jumped and he jumped so far. He knew there was something wrong.  He flew the next time he jumped. He thought this was going to be a good change in his life. But then he thought he would never be the same.

So he looked for the aliens. Then when he went home he got colder and colder. Then when he went to his work which is on the top of the apartment. He was too warm. So he went outside and it cold. So he went and flew to space and it was super hot. He went to the moon and he saw a spaceship.

He went inside and the aliens were there. He asked them to fix the super powers so he can be back to normal.They wouldn't do it without a fight. He defeated them and he saw the very gun that shot him. He grabbed the gun and shot himself and he couldn't fly back.

The moral of the story is to leave thing alone of you don't know about it.

Historical recount

Have you ever wondered how people migrated back in the day? One thousand years ago in Hawaiki, there lived a captain he said to 12 of the villagers:

“We are leaving because there was not enough space in the Hawaiki.”

My responsibilities were  to make a boat, also I had to gather food and build a shelter on the boat to keep safe when there is danger. I needed to take a Tahuna, cook, family and friends also some animals so if our food run’s out and there are no more fish we can cook and eat them. I had  learned my skills from my koro. I will miss my friends because I will probably never see them again and I will not have the chance to play and have fun. We would fear the big waves because it is bigger than the boat. But I am looking forward to the new land and its nature.

As i'm on the boat I feel excited, but then a few days later I feel bored just steering the wheel of the boat and looking at the deep blue sea. My family, friends and also the tahuna were all bored as well. As our journey carried on we started to feel hungry. I could hear birds so I knew there were fish nearby, we catched fish and cooked it it was very nice.  By keeping the food fresh we store it under the boat where the water is, so it’s nice and cold.

After a few days, my family and I, the Tahuna and the cook were feeling bored. Later on it became,  night and waves came crashing toward the boat and I had to steer the boat very skillfully so that the boat does not flip over. But then one enormous wave came and overflowed the boat with water but luckily the boat didn't sink. While the big wave hit their boat the pig fell out of the boat.  The waka smelled very revolting  and I could see the birds and the sun rising.

When I was a teenager, my father showed me the skills to be a captain by songs.  Alot of the boat rides I’ve taken people on, they always thanked me after I take them to their destination. I feel happy that people depend on me and be so polite to me.

It was the 15th day and we spotted land. I was so excited when I saw rocks, seagulls, I could smell land and  light blue water  because that means there is land near by. It was foggy so the people could not see but I was in front of the boat and I saw land.

I will be honest, It was scared when the waves were big and heading straight for us. I learnt that I should be more careful of what time of the year I go because it could cost me my life if I go in winter.

Bias

Bias can affect the way we look at things.

There are two types of bias. Bias can be subjective which means you make an opinion based on the information you already have. It can also be objective which means you don’t allow the information you already have to change the way you think.

In the story the Goldilocks and The Three Bears, Goldilocks breaks into their house. This she makes a bad choice as she has no right to be there. She was actually stealing and vandalising their property. This shows that my opinion was subjective as I think stealing is wrong. If I didn’t use what I already know I think I would feel sorry for Goldilocks  as the bears scared her and that just isn’t fair. This time I am being objective as I’m not letting the difference between right and wrong affect my decision.

What is a Dialogic learner

A Dialogic learner has the ability to share Ideas and ask questions. They are self managed and able to make connections related to their learning. A dialogic learner plays a game of verbal ping pong. It is an argument. They explain or back it up with a fact or their own opinion. They are able to talk, work collaboratively, reflect back on their work and find any errors and correct them or improve things they are not the good at.

Why Facebook is a problem?

Facebook is a problem because it stops us from talking to people in person. Also it can stop us from learning. Facebook is a problem when people cyber bully each other. Facebook is a problem  people are not learning because of . Also we get addicted to it and more than one billion people log in to Facebook a day. Half a billion people have the application on their android or iPhone. We waste the time of our lives on Facebook. Once you get addicted to it you will have no chance of stopping.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                On Facebook people always check other peoples pages and they can check yours even if they’re not your friends. Facebook is a problem because people pretend that they’re someone else. You can put negative posts on your timeline. Then when you do that people are going to mock the person you put a negative post on.

How to reduce the risk of global warming?

If we keep polluting the air it will be like this picture. You may think it is just some fog wrong it is china it is one of the most polluted country in the world.

We can reduce global warming by using things that use electricity than things that use fossil fuels or carbon dioxide.

As we use more and more carbon dioxide the ozone layer which protects us from cancer and other diseases gets holes in it. when there is holes in the ozone layer the bad rays of the sun comes to our skin which is not good.

If my opinion is objective I think the wolf was just hungry so he isn’t really a bad character. He was just looking for food.

My reading Homework

My Maths strategy

Yvette collects gems. She has been collecting them for 3 years. Her favourites are

diamonds. Altogether she has 233 gems. 75 of these are diamonds. How many of her gemstones collection are not diamonds?

I added 25 to the 75 to make 100. Then I added 133 to the 100 and made 233. 25 to 133 equals 158. There are 75 diamonds and 158 other gems.

Wolverine it is almost like a sloth but is is much faster and bigger.
